Want to Watch British TV online?

From YouTube this video shows how to watch UK Television from anywhere in the world.

Basically if you want to watch British TV online in Europe you need to hide your IP address. By using a VPN you can substitute the address a web site sees with that of the VPN server. If you connect to a VPN server based in Britain, all British TV channels online will work perfectly.

Here’s a demonstration –

How to Stream UK TV using a VPN

In this video I’m going to show you how anybody can watch British TV online. As you probably realise if you’re outside the United Kingdom you can’t access the BBC iPlayer.

Or other sites like ITV hub, Channel 4, Channel 5 – all these sites which are absolutely packed with.
great TV. Plus they broadcast everything live as well. Yet they’re re not accessible, you just simply can’t see them if you’re outside the UK.

How to show you quickly this is the BBC iPlayer site.

So let’s just watch the news. The news is on live – you get some error message saying this content is not available in your location. BBC has looked at my IP address seen that it’s not a UK one and given me that message – I’ll get different messages in different areas.

Trying to do different things on the site but basically it’s all comes down to. Same goes with Sky TV you’ll get the same problem clicking on anything will and streaming won’t work.

Ok so how do we fix it as well. As I mentioned the IP address is the important part and what we’ve got to do is find a way of taking control of our IP address. Fortunately it’s not that hard.

The most popular way and what millions of people all over the world use to watch a BBC from abroad is to use a VPN which I’ll show you.  Although if you look around you’ll find a similar method using a BBC iPlayer DNS trick which works well too.

No here’s the one I’ve been using. I’ve tried many many VPNs over the years some good some bad some brilliant.

This is one of settled on for the last few years because it just kind of works and it’s not very expensive, in fact I think it’s one of the cheapest ones.

Bar a couple that don’t really work. It’s called Nord VPN which you can see here. When you started it off sitting in my taskbar. I only use it generally for. watching TV stations and websites that are blocked.

As you can see here there’s all the countries all over the world. Basically to setup a VPN which is short for virtual private network. You set up an encrypted tunnel to one of these servers.
So I can pick any country.

The beauty is as soon as I connected to that server any website will see the IP address of the server not my real one. If I want to be in the UK.

I just have to click on a UK server. Now just the point about using Nord VPN here. You can just click on United Kingdom and Nord will automatically connect to the fastest one.

I would say if you want to watch TV channels don’t do this.

This is because you tend to get lumped on the same fast servers. Now they work great and they are fast. But the problem is if you have too many people on the same servers and same IP address trying to watch the BBC. Then the BBC will block that address temporarily.

Look on the Nord website or look at one of the links in below in my description and they show you which servers they are optimised for accessing the BBC.  Or even better is scroll through the list. Check them out one by one and when you find one that works well just put it on your favorite so I used this one.

And I have been for a while to be honest for no particular reason other than it worked and I did never ever been blocked. Once I don’t think you are too probably get blocked now so I connected to that service was UK so now have effectively got a UK IP address so let’s just closes this down.

And restart Chrome.

This time I’m going to go back to the BBC website and let’s see if we can actually stream remember BBC is completely free.  When you set up the account they will ask you some questions.

One is have you got a TV licence I suggest saying yes to that !  If you want to watch it.

And the second is they will ask you for a UK postcode.

Just put in any valid postcode. Ok let’s go to the BBC iPlayer when you are creating your account obviously have a UK VPN.

Ok so what am I doing. Let’s just have a look at the live stream.

Last time so, is the BBC News.

I click on ok or I can restart the programme.  You can see now we’ve just caught the weather.

I’ll stop that now. But if you remember we had content not available in the UK last time just to show you. It’s not restricted to the the Live stream either. Let’s just watch a kids show here from the BBC iPlayer

Each program that is broadcast as the BBC has full licence to it will be stored on the iPlayer archive for 12-months the only exceptions are things like news program which they don’t keep long and things like match of the day which have sporting restrictions.

So that’s it that’s a Nord VPN used to watch BBC from anywhere in the world. Doesn’t matter where you are you can watch it.

And the same exactly the same principle goes for all the other channels channel.

Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV, if you got Sky subscription Sky and all the BT channels.

Satellite packages, normally restricted to the UK but if you have the UK VPN it worked perfectly.   I recommend Nord’s VPN,  I’m using now because it works and it’s cheap but basically and it’s easy to use. It supports all the other platforms but there are lots of other so you try them as well.

ok

Thank you very much for watching hope you enjoyed the video.
